Apple Pokes Fun at Windows

When you’re browsing the network in Leopard, this is what the icons for Windows machines look like.

You know that six month delay in getting Leopard out the door? They spent it trying to get another screenshot, but finally gave up and just included the only thing they ever saw on Windows.

Hilarious!

But I know a guy who knows a guy who told me that the six month delay was due to them waiting to get this blue screen on windows.

(Can’t remember when I last had a blue screen, but I do know that in the last 7 weeks when I was in France, Vista crashed twice, but my partners Mac crashed twelve times)

I’ve been using Mac OS X since 2002 on 4 different machines: a 350Mhz G3, a 1 Ghz G4 iBook, a 2.7 Ghz DP G5 and a G4 mac mini. I can count out the number of crashes I’ve had altogether on one hand. If your partner had 12 crashes over 7 weeks then the fault lies on his head not the OS’s.

What? I don’t get it. Isn’t that what they look like naturally?

(seriously, in supporting both Macs and PC’s I’ve only seen the BSOD on PC’s once or twice, and since OS 10, I’ve seen about the same number of true system crashes on Macs. I’ve found that with Mac users that came up through the pre-OS X days, if they have an application crash they’ll assume a system crash is inevitable and reboot. So what many people see as Mac crashes are really overreactions to app crashes.)
