Find New Music You Like

Sorry for wasting away your Friday, but you really should check out Pandora.

Can you help me discover more music that I’ll like?

Those questions often evolved into great conversations. Each friend told us their favorite artists and songs, explored the music we suggested, gave us feedback, and we in turn made new suggestions. Everybody started joking that we were now their personal DJs.

We created Pandora so that we can have that same kind of conversation with you.

So far, my mix of Dream Theater, Demon Hunter, Rage Against the Machine, and Radiohead has given me both music I already knew about, and music that I will now go out and purchase. You can even purchase the song you are currently listening to straight from Itunes or the album from Amazon. Add that with adding favorite songs and asking Pandora why it chose the current song, this site pretty much rules.

I agree -- thanks for pointing out this site. I think a lot of the discovery power will come from the starting points you give it.

The database seems a bit limited... I tried inserting some of my favorite artists, it asked me if what I typed were artist names or song names (!!) and finally offered me alternate spellings for those names...

How are more people not commenting on this! You can create your own radio stations based upon the artists and songs you like! Over 300,000 artists to choose from! Perhaps too many of you are still playing with it and haven't had time to comment. Yeah...that must be it. Or, perhaps I am to much of a music nerd and I get excited easily...that could be it also.

I did try it, and it's very slick. Just haven't had a chance to actually listen long enough to buy more albums. This tops audioscrobbler as the best way to find new tunes.

Yup, Pandora is by far the best way to find music other than by other people, and as far as the music library goes, there is only one artist i like that it doesnt have, and their music is pretty hard to find period.
