Open Source CMS Award: Packt is doing their awards again this year, and I’ve been asked to judge in “Best Open Source PHP CMS.”

Go nominate your favorite app. Nominations are open through August 25.

Now entering its third year, the Award has established itself as an important measure for quality and the popularity of Open Source Content Management Systems.

The 2008 Award will continue to support a range of open source Content Management Systems with four main categories offering prize money of $5,000 for the overall winner and $2,000 for the winners of the remaining categories.

They ditched the “Social Networking” category in which I was a judge last year. I was really dis-satisfied last year with Wordpress as the winner. I voted for Elgg, which I still think is a fine system.
